*In terms of general background assumptions when playing against characters who aren't Zeus, Ganymede is quite happy to be where and as he is, and while it obviously would come with some questions of how consensual it really could have been right at the start, he doesn't have any real angst about it. He's loved and indulged and spoiled, and is certainly in love in return, and on top of that he has more than he has any right to, but it's also less than he wants. You make do.
PJO characters: hit me up if you're interested! Ganymede isn't ever going to be fully canon compliant (especially not to actual PJO!Ganymede) but I accommodate for events at least up to HoO and post-series, so if you're ok with that... (When it comes to Chalice of the Gods, I'm absolutely up to do something inspired/similar to this, but it'll have to be different plot-wise, given the differences between my Ganymede and PJO!Ganymede.)
Setting possibilities and modern AUs
The abduction myth in modern times, nothing fancy, just moving things forward (or in terms of reincarnation, recreating the past abduction both for fun and
I'm also good with things like inserting him in the Percy Jackson series (but I've only read the plot synopsises on Wikipedia, fair warning), or in urban fantasy series if it might fit to mash the Greek gods in there, as well as similar settings and 'verses.
A plotty AU;
Ganymede woke up a couple months ago, exhausted, starving, and confused. The whole of Olympus was asleep, and he could not wake anyone at all, aside from those who were basically what he is; immortalized but otherwise plain human.
Trying to figure out what's going on and how to fix it, Ganymede and the rest divide their time between Olympus and getting a feel for modern Earth. Clues must exist, right? The only thing they have so far is that several things belonging to a handful of gods are missing. Finding those are only the first step; getting them back will be another, and they simply have to hope that is all that's needed for the gods and demigods to start waking up.
(Some information might or might not have been given to Ganymede in the middle of a couple very horny dreams, but if anyone is paying attention they'd surely lose interest exactly because the only thing done with whatever brief freedom these dreams mean is have a form of sex - how typical, right?)
Wishlist
I mostly default to some vague post-Iliad point, but I'd
There's also during the Gigantomachia or when the gods have fled Olympus during the Typhon fight and Zeus hasn't yet got his sinews back, so you could have Ganymede and someone else who might have not had time/been able to flee trying to creep around and stay out of notice as much as possible.
Aside from that there's a number of other myths I've figured Ganymede was present for (found below) which I would really want to play around in/reacting to them, with various deities or other relevant characters. Modern era shenanigans are great, of course, but I'm definitely wanting of things set during the Bronze Age/the myths and maybe later, during Classical Greece and the Roman Empire (if you've got characters from those eras and want to blend in the supernatural with the gods actually existing, I'm up for that!). Would love a Hebe for friendship things, or Eros for the same (also Hymenaios or any of the other Erotes)!
If you would like to do in the "present"/modern times with Ganymede meeting reincarnated characters (family!!), I would certainly not say no to that either.
When it comes to Zeus I'd prefer a lighter/positive take on things; genuine affection as well as baser emotions, even if the situation of course can be more or less problematic in itself! Would be as interested to start from kidnapping because of attraction as well as, as the earliest sources state, only because he's so damn pretty he belongs among the gods and then things developing from there, or whatever variation of it that might be of interest, like Zeus disguising himself as a human for a while before the abduction occurs.
